Women, Literacy, and Agency: Beyond the Master Narratives
Abstract
The research enterprise, like the teaching and learning enterprise, is saturated with patriarchal expectations. This paper documents the journey of a literacy researcher as she critiques the master narratives for literate women in institutions — in particular, in government and educational settings. Through the accounts of how these women challenge the master narratives in their lives, the author reassesses the master narrative of the research process itself.Metrics
