Un champ bien clos: L'histoire des femmes au Quebec
Keywords:
Historiography, Quebec, Social HistoryAbstract
In order to analyze the influence of women's history approaches on Quebec historiography, this article uses many sources. First, L'histoire du Quebec contemporain, by Linteau, Durocher, Robert, and Ricard is evaluated. Second, the author examines the «palmares» of the many prizes offered by the Institut d'histoire de l'Amerique franchise since 1979. Third, two collections are scrutinized: books in regional history published by the Institut quebecois de recherche sur la culture and the short synthesis published in the «Boreal-Express collection)). Fouth, in a more personal approach, the author analyzes a selection of books published-in the fields of social history. The conclusion is quite pessimistic and observes that works, originally published in English, present a more inclusive approach.Metrics
