Écriture Historique sur les Femmes du Moyen Age: L'exemple de Manosque
Abstract
Les procès-verbaux en matière criminelle - sources peu utilisées par les médiévistes - constituent une documentation très riche pour décrire la vie quotidienne des Manosquines au tournant du XIVe siècle. En effet, s'ils permettent d'étayer nos connaissances sur la délinquance féminine, dont la caractéristique est la place prépondérante (plus de 60%) de la violence verbale et physique, un questionnement ethnologique de leur contenu rend possible la reconstitution de leur vie mais aussi de certains de leurs modèles de comportement. Ainsi leur quotidien apparaît étroitement lié, d'une part, à une morale matrimoniale qui, en exaltant le modèle de l'honneur féminin, incite les femmes au mariage ou, pour les moins riches, au concubinage; et, par conséquent, à la vie domestique où elles veillent à la reproduction physique et culturelle de la famille.Metrics
